These rules and standards apply to all members, students, guests, and visitors to The Wheel House studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Wheel House staff, managers, instructors, and experience providers and producers are all committed to supporting and defending
Creativity. Personal Growth. Fun. Belonging. Pride in one’s work. These are a few of the reasons we started The Wheel House.
The Wheel House is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment free from harassment, discrimination, disparaging comments, and aggressive or abusive language or behavior of any kind. Such behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone who engages in such behavior will be asked to desist or leave the studio. The Wheel House may immediately terminate such a person’s studio access and may take further action if indicated. Members who experience or witness harassment are encouraged to report it to studio staff or management immediately.
We seek to encourage open and friendly communication among all visitors to the studio, especially about the ceramic arts and personal ways of engaging with the work. We encourage conversations about other topics of interest within limits, recognizing that it’s a shared space that may include people with a wide variety of perspectives, some of which may not enjoy the same comments as others.
Everyone is requested to keep in mind that not everything shared in such a working context like the studio is meant to be shared in other contexts. As in any case where people have open discussions in a shared space, conversations should be considered confidential as a general courtesy unless permission is obtained otherwise from the participants.
Studio visitors may not photograph or otherwise record other members, guests, or staff without their explicit consent.
Studio visitors are not entitled to information about any other customers’ personal information on file or commercial status. The Wheel House staff will not disclose such member information to other customers or visitors. Our Data & Privacy Policy includes more details about what information we collect and how we use it.
